Rally Information

Centrally located on Vancouver Island, the August 12 – 16, 2024 Ryde the Rock is based in Duncan, British Columbia. For decades the Cowichan Valley has been producing amazing artisanal foods and drink from the region’s burgeoning farms, wineries, cideries, breweries, and distilleries.

Duncan is the “City of Totems” and all around the city you will find a collection of 40 colourful totem poles created by Indigenous master carvers.

Other things you can’t miss in and around Duncan are the world’s largest hockey stick and the BC Forest Discovery Centre, where you can ride on a working steam train.

For more information about the Cowichan Valley, check out this link to the Tourism Cowichan website.

In Memoriam

On July 4, 2022, Daniel (Dan) Thompson passed from a rare form of cancer and he will always be remembered in the Spyder community as the founder of the Ryde the Rock Rally.

Dan’s vision for Ryde the Rock started in 2018 and his dream was to bring like minded people to ride and introduce them to this wonderful island. Along with Sebastien Asselin at Ladysmith Motorsports, Dan hosted the very first Ryde The Rock in 2019 in Campbell River with around 70 people in attendance.

He was your first contact when you joined the Ryde the Rock Facebook page, and he never left a parking lot with a Sypder in it that he didn’t know so he could meet the new owners and invite them on our rides. Dan invited Dee and myself out for our first Sunday group ride and we were hooked.

He will be missed.
